Exploring Phillips Academy Campus

The Andover Inn is located on the campus of Phillips Academy, which was established in 1778 and is rich in history. Whether you are staying at the Andover Inn for a weekend getaway or have a corporate meeting booked in one of our meeting spaces, you have access to explore Phillips’ beautiful campus. Highlights of our unique location, accessible just steps outside the doors of the Andover Inn, are the Moncrieff Cochran Sanctuary and the Addison Gallery of American Art. Both are open to the public and offer complimentary admission.

Moncrieff Cochran Sanctuary is located at the end of Chapel Avenue and boasts 65 acres of woodlands and ponds on Phillips Academy Campus. Offering several miles of trails. Hiking, X-country skiing, and leashed dogs are permitted. No matter the season it’s a great time to get out there and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Additional information can be found here.

Addison Gallery of American Art is located just across the street from the Andover Inn. They feature a collection of American art that is one of the most comprehensive in the world, including more that 17,000 objects spanning the 18th century to the present. In a typical year, the Addison presents approximately 12 shows including both permanent and collections installations as well as major traveling exhibitions. They are open Tuesday thru Sunday.
